A member of the National Farm Attractions Network, Heads of Ayr Farm Park is open seven days a week. There’s plenty to do at the farm, with activities ranging from bumper boat racing to water wars. Unsure what water wars is exactly? Go along and find out – rest assured, it’s great fun. There are also electrical tractors and diggers, a fun assault course, playpark, giant sand pit, trampolines, ringo sledding, a massive aerial runway and a qrowuad biking course. The quad biking, incidentally, can be enjoyed by all the family, as there are small electric quads which adults and children can use together, as well as smaller kids’ quads and larger vehicles for adults. For younger children, there’s a soft-play area and drop slides within the undercover Play N’ Wild Adventure Barn, and an adjacent coffee house (Scallywags) where parents can keep an eye on their toddlers. A range of freshly-prepared sandwiches, cakes and coffee buns are available, while if you stay for dinner, Roosters Restaurant serves up heartier fare. In addition to a multitude of fun activities, the park has an animal byre with monkeys, lemurs, meerkats and ponies to visit – plus a gift shop, naturally.

Absolutely fantastic day out with the kids. Get there early and you'll not be stuck for things to do until you leave. And there's much more than animals.
